Two Inkido layouts!

Two weeks have passed since my last blog post at Inkido's blog so yesterday it was my turn to blog again!!

Here are the projects I made:

{Friend} : a page about one of my best friends "Mieke":

Some close-ups:

I find my inspiration for my layouts everywhere and in this case it was this (Nigerian) saying I came across one day: "Hold a True Friend With Both Hands". I knew instantly that I would scrap a page about one of my friends using this saying!

And here's the second page "Fun with Mum":

These photos were taken with my webcam on a lazy Sunday morning. I love Sunday mornings: a cup of coffee and quietly reading my e-mails .... but no such luck this Sunday. I knew my laptop has a webcam, but I just never use it and the kids wanted to show me how it works ... and about 50 photos were the result! Here are two of them:

For both pages I used the papers from the new line "Forever Summer". I LOVE these papers!!

For more Inkido inspration have a look at their blog; it's worth it!!!

Thanks for stopping by this Sunday!!

The Orange Towel Gang!!

Here's my third layout made with the wonderful May 2011 Kit from The Sampler.

The photos are from our cruise last month. Our boys and their 2 nephews had so much fun in and around the swimming pool on the cruise ship.

And some close-ups:

If you want to see what the other design team members made with the kit have a look at the The Sampler blog!!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope to see you back soon!

{1963}

It's sketch time at The Sampler again!! I really loved this May sketch (well, to be honest I love almost all sketches!!)  and had so much fun scrapping again. After 3 days of celebrations and no time to scrap (2 birthdays and 1 day of preparations) I was so happy to sit behind my scrapping desk again this morning!

Here's the May sketch:

And here's my layout:

In a box full of random photos, I found this one of my parents and me under the Christmas tree way back in 1963!

The AC sheet with all the letters that is included in the kit is perfect for the title. I used my Round 14 punch from Epiphany Crafts to create the epoxy letters for the title.

The hearts are also created with paper from the kit and punches from Epiphany Crafts (heart 14 and heart 25). The cut-out flowers are cut from the package the Prima canvas came in. :-)

For the border punched a lot of butterflies and machine stitched them to my page, then folded them a bit to give some dimension to my page.

And you know what?????!!!!! If you join in with the May sketch challenge you have a chance to win this complete MAY KIT!!!! All you have to do is head over to Holly's blog and link up your take on the sketch!!!!

I'm off to play some more with the kit!
Meanwhile, thanks for stopping by my blog and if you want to see what the other dt members created with this sketch please hop over to their blogs!! You'll find the bloglist on the left side of my blog.

Hugs,
Monique

Dream Cruise

Vandaag was het weer tijd voor de maandelijkse Dutch Dares sketch en natuurlijk heb ik foto's van de vakantie gebruikt!! De schets was deze maand van Petra:

Today the Dutch Dares' new monthly sketch is up!! This one is made by Petra! Love it!!

En hier is mijn uitwerking:
And here's my take on it:

Als je de andere uitwerkingen van de schets wilt zien moet je eens op het blog van de Dutch Dares kijken, ze zijn echt heel leuk en allemaal weer anders! En mocht je een keer onze gast designer willen worden of een kans maken om de maandelijkse RAK te winnen, doe dan eens een keer met ons mee en probeer 1 of meer van de dares!!! Zouden we echt harstikke leuk vinden!!!

If you want to see what the other designers created have a look at the Dutch Dares' blog!! and if you would like to be one of our guest designers or if you want a chance to win the monthly RAK please join us in one (or more) of the dares!! We would love to see what you create!!

Ik heb de maandelijkse scrapbook kit van mei 2011 van The Sampler's voor deze layout gebruikt en een epoxy shape van Epiphany Crafts .

Used the The Sampler's May 2011 Monthly Scrapbooking Kit and an epoxy shape from Epiphnay Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you so much for your lovely comments!!!!

She's got attitude!

Last Saturday is was my turn to show my projects on the Inkido blog. Here are the layout and card I made:

First a page about Manon. During the cruise last week she had her photos taken by a professional photographer and this is one of those photos. I love the result!

And some close-ups:

For this layout I used the "Forever" line and the "Is This Love" line, the butterfly stamp, the "vintage frame 3" stamp, flowers, ribbon and charms: everything from Inkido of course!!

And then next a card ... one for all purposes:

Except for the "Rosehage" line I used cardstock, a charm, a stamp, pins, a ribbon and pearls from Inkido!

These projects are the only two I made last week ... I have a little trouble getting back into the normal swing of things after the cruise. It was so good to have a few days without pressure, without having to do all sorts of chores and to be able to just sit in the sun and read. I'm not normally one to sit in the sun and do nothing, I don't relax easily, but after the cruise it's the other way around! Oh well, I pressume hat won't last very long! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!!

CRUISING!!

Do you know what we've been doing last week????? We've been on a  CRUISE!!!!!

To be honest, when my parents in law invited us (and the rest of the family) to this cruise I felt kind of apprehensive about it. A ship full of thousands of people ..... but to my huge relief ànd delight it was GREAT!!! We had such a wonderful time!!!

We started our 8 day adventure in Venice (Italy), day 2 we spent in Bari (Italy), day 3 in Katakolon (Greece), day 4 in Izmir (Turkey), day 5 in Istanbul (Turkey), day 6 at sea and day 7 in Dubrovnik (Kroatia) and day 8 back to Venice.

I've got a little impression for you:

Day 1: MSC Magnifica (name of the ship) and sailing from Venice:

Day 2: Bari and on board:

Day 3: Katakolon and on board:

Day 4: Izmir:

Day 5: Istanbul:

Day 6  & 7: on board and Dubrovnik

We had such a wonderful time that Patrick is already looking at other cruises we could do!

And now it's back to reality ....

Monique

Jippie!!

It has been some time, but here she is again! My super sweet doggie Jippie!! Our Cocker Spaniel of almost 6 years old. I took these photos of her last week in the garden and knew straight away that they would be perfect for these Inkido papers!! What do you think?

The paper line is called "Forever" and one of my favorites so far! All the other products (flowers, leaves, charms, corrugated chipboard, pearls, ribbon) are Inkido's too!!!

Love the effect of that twine curled over the paper (I bought an extra large stapler especially for this!)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and please visit the Inkido blog for lots more inspiration!!

Big hug,
Monique
