Pebbles Heart of Home Mini Cards

Hi friends! I just got back from a warm & sunny family holiday in the south of France and thought it was high time to update my blog! I noticed I didn't get around to post my last two Pebbles projects and guess that's a good way to start ...

Here's a project I created for them using their brand new Heart of Home collection.

When I saw the new collection from Jen Hadfield “Heart of Home“, it was love at first sight! What an amazing collection this is! I adore the soft colors and the beautiful designs! I decided to create a couple of mini cards, but once busy I couldn't stop and ended up creating 20!

I’ve always had a special love for small sized cards.  Whenever I see them in a store, I can’t resist buying them. They are so versatile! Not only can you send them to someone, they are also perfect to add to a present or hang from a bottle. If I won’t be home for a few days, I like to leave a little card on my kids’ or husband’s pillow with a little message inside. I created these cards with a single sheet of “Love of Home”  patterned paper and I didn’t even use all of the squares (there are 36 in total and I used 20 of them)! I also used 4 different colors of cardstock (white, kraft, pink and a light yellow).

Whenever I get started on a project, I like to see the entire collection (even though, in this case, I only used the Love of Home sheet). I used my trimmer to cut out all the squares:

The squares measure 5 cm x 5 cm and I cut two pieces of cardstock just slightly larger as a mat, both about 0.7 cm larger. The finished cards measure approx. 6.5 cm x 6.5 cm.

Before adhering the squares on the card base, I first made 20 sets as I wanted to decide on the color combinations and also add some machine stitching.

When the machine stitching was done, I glued the stitched squares on the cardstock bases and I was done!! It really took no time at all, but maybe that’s also because I had such a great time making the cards … time just flew!

Here’s one of the cards, aren’t the soft colors and pretty designs fantastic?!

And here are a few more:

When I was finished making the cards, I wanted to be able to see them rather then put them in my desk drawer with my other cards. I hung them in this We R Memory Keepers Clip Frame. I really love my collection of Heart of Home mini cards and hope you do too!

Water color tutorial for My Creative Scrapbook

Hi friends! Last Friday I shared this step-by-step tutorial for the "I heart Summer" layout on the blog of My Creative Scrapbook and I thought I'd share it here as well. I used the MCS July Main Kit with all the Simple Stories and Photoplay Paper products. How I adore the bright & sunny colors and designs in this kit!! Here's the layout I made:

For this layout I started with one of the MCS digital cut files: the palm tree, but instead of cutting the palm tree I removed the Silhouette Cameo cutting blade and inserted a brown Silhouette sketch pen. In the Silhouette settings I easily adjusted the settings (see on the right side, at the bottom):

After resizing the tree to almost page size I inserted the paper I wanted to draw on and pressed "Send to Silhouette":

The next step was water coloring the palm tree image. I used my Studio Calico water color paints and got to work:

I used large brush strokes to "roughly" color the image:

After I finished coloring I set the paper aside to let it dry and selected the paper, photo and embellishments I wanted to use. Next came the designing of the page. Before adhering anything I placed everything I thought wanted to use on my paper and kept rearranging until I was satisfied with the look:

After adhering everything I added some machine stitching, journaling, a date stamp and a couple of paint drops and I was done!

Here are a few close-ups of the finished page:

Hope you like it!! For more July Main Kit inspiration hop over to the MCS Design Team gallery and if you're interested in information about the kit club then you can find the details HERE

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to take a peek at my project!

My Creative Scrapbook July Main Kit! 1st layout

Hello everyone! Yesterday was reveal day for the four July kits at My Creative Scrapbook. I got the Main kit filled with the "Summer Days" collection from Simple Stories and some Photoplay products.

Here's one of the five layouts I made with this kit: a page with a photo of the most important men in my life! In February/March they went to Abu Dhabi and Dubai for a week and had the time of their lives! Of course they made some photos to send home to my dd and me!

A few close-ups: love all the chipboard pieces in this collection & kit!

Yay for flamingo's! (they didn't see any, though)

The MCS kits aren't complete without a piece of ribbon. Love this month's red ribbon!

The July Main Kit is just soooo amazing, it's filled to the brim and after completing five layouts I still have enough left for another 5 pages! Here's a photo of the kit:

For more information about the Kit Club please visit My Creative Scrapbook's website. For more inspiration with this kit you can visit the Design Team Gallery where you'll find all the projects made with the various kits, including all five of mine.

Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you a fabulous day!

Red/White/Blue Pebbles Layout - Ed Sheeran in New Orleans

Hi everyone! Here's a red, white & blue washi tape stars layout I created for Pebbles Inc.. Two years ago when we visited our daughter in Louisiana (during her foreign exchange year) we seized the opportunity to tour the state and of course we visited New Orleans as well. What an amazing city! We had such an awesome time and saw many of the famous sights. For my hubby and daughter one of the highlights was going to the jazz festival where they saw Ed Sheeran (my daughter is a huge fan) and Jerry Lee Lewis (my husband’s favorite!). I was so happy when my husband showed me this photo he took of my daughter and if you take a good look you can see Ed Sheeran as well.

I used Pebbles’ “America The Beautiful” collection. This collection has the exact right colors  and designs for a layout like this! I especially love the package with all the washi tapes, there are six sheets of washi tape in it!

If you want to see how I created the fun washi tape stars then please hop over to Pebbles' blog where you'll find a step-by-step tutorial and the supply list!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Wishing all my US friends a very happy 4th of July!! xxxx

Stuck?! Sketches July 1st Reveal!

For today's sketch reveal at Stuck?! Sketches I scrapped photos of my daughter's first driving lesson. There were a few hiccups before she actually had the first lesson, so these photos had to be scrapped! I used Amy Tangerine's "Oh Happy Life" collection with it's vibrant colors and fun Thickers, which I totally love!

and a few close-ups: love the little chipboarad van!

Aren't those puffy Thickers awesome?!

and this is the sketch we used:

Will you play too?! You've got until the end of the month to join in and win one of the fabulous prizes from our sponsors! Hop over to the blog of Stuck?! Sketches for the details!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
